Sonadow - King and his slave part 12

It was already a late evening when Sonic's knights came back to the castle. Three knights approached king Sonic who was sitting on his throne. Sir Vector, the green and tall knight, stepped closer and bowed to his king.

"My king, we looked for everywhere many times and we even asked the villagers if they had seen the red and black hedgehog but no one could tell us anything about him," he said and looked at his king slightly. Sonic sighed heavily and looked away with slightly sad look on his face.

"Alright.. Thank you. You can leave now. I want to be alone," he said. Sir Vector nodded and left the throne room with the other knights. Sonic leaned on his hand slightly and looked out of the window. Shadow wasn't in the castle and he wasn't in the village. Maybe.. Maybe he really had left... While Sonic was thinking about Shadow and his odd disappearance, queen Amy was walking at the hallway of the dungeon. She walked at the end of the hallway and turned to look towards one small and dark cell. She smiled in satisfaction as she watched a black and red hedgehog who was sitting in the corner of the cell, curled up like a little ball.

"Wakey wakey, slavey!" Amy said loudly. Shadow flicked his ears quicly and startled as he heard her voice. He lifted his head up quickly and looked at the queen slightly in fear. Amy felt even more satisfied as she noticed that.

"Awww did I wake you up? Good. Guess what? My darling king thinks that you have ran away," she said with sweet sounding voice. Shadow's eyes widened.

"W-what..?" he said quietly. Amy giggled and looked at him.

"My Sonikku thinks that you have left him and ran away. Far far away," she giggled. Shadow looked now sad and stunned.

"B-but.. I would never leave.. " he said and got up carefully. He shivered slightly when he walked at the queen. Only bars were keeping them separate from each other. Young queen's smile disappeared and now she was looking at the slave with cold look.

"But he belives me. And he's not even missing a filthy rat like you.." Shadow's ears dropped. He looked down slightly. He squeezed the bars in his shivering hands. Queen's words hurt him. A lot.

"W-why..? Why do you keep me here..? I haven't done anything bad to you..." Shadow whimpered. Queen Amy looked at him furiously and she growled slightly.

"Nothing? Nothing?! Because of you, my king is not even seeing me anymore! Right after you came here, he started to ignore me completely! Only thing he's interested is you!" Amy shouted mad. Shadow blushed slightly.

"But.. Why are you doing this, queen Amy..? K-king Sonic will only get ma-"

"He won't! You're just a stupid slave he brought! You mean nothing to him!" Amy screamed. Shadow felt a string in his heart. Amy's words were hurting him even more.

"I know what you're trying! You're trying to make my king to fall in love to you so you can be his mate! But that's not gonna happen..! So now I will make sure you will never see him again and he won't see you either!" Amy shouted and growled at Shadow.

"What do you mean..? W-we are not lov-" Shadow tried to lie but then he shut up as she noticed how furious Amy was. Shadow moved back slightly and looked at her shivering now even more.

"Don't lie to me! I have seen the way my king looks at you!" Amy growled and looked at him.  

"W-what..?" Shadow whimpered again. Amy calmed down and grinned slightly evilly.  

"It's obvious that my king has some kind of feelings towards you. But don't worry, he will forget about you soon. So now I will send you right there where you came from.. To mr. Scourge's mansion." Shadow's eyes widened. He started to shiver even more. All the bad memories of Scourge's mansion filled his mind.  

"N-no.. Not there...!" Shadow screamed falling on the floor on his kneels and shaking violently, clinging on the bars. Amy grinned.

"Yes, right there. King Sonic will be mine again," she said and started to walk away.

"Enjoy your last day in castle, slavey!" Amy said and laughed. Shadow was clinging on the bars and squeezing them tightly in his hands while tears were falling down his cheeks. He knew that if he went back to Scourge's mansion he wouldn't be able to see Sonic ever again. Or.. He couldn't even stay alive.. Scourge was sadistic slave dealer and Shadow had heard that some of the slaves in his mansion were killed. Shadow shivered. He didn't wanted to go back to that place. It was a hell to him.. Shadow leaned against the wall and curled up to a ball again, hoping and praying that Sonic would find him soon. Only small weeping and whimpering of the red and black hedgehog broke now the silence of the dungeon.


King Sonic was lying on his big bed and looking at the roof wistfully. It was quiet in his room and he felt lonely when Shadow was not next to him purring and nuzzling on him. Sonic turned to look at the clock slowly. It was almost midnight. The young king sighed and sat up. He rubbed his neck slightly and looked at the floor now trying to think what to do. He couldn't sleep at all. Only thing he could think of was Shadow. Sonic got up from the bed and walked towards the door of his room. Maybe a little walk would help.. When Sonic opened the door he noticed that Sir Espio was standing behind the door and he looked like he was just about to knock at the door but didn't had time since the king already opened the door. Sonic looked at the knight with surprised look on his face.

"Sir Espio? What are you doing here at a time like this..?" king asked. Purple knight bowed at him slightly.

"I'm sorry if I woke you up, my king but there's something I needed to tell you right away," knight said and moved his visor up so he could look at the king. Sonic raised his eyebrow slightly in wonder.

"What is it then..?" he asked slightly curiously.

"My king, I heard two soldiers talking about the queen's order to imprison someone. The queen was reportedly told the soldiers to capture a thief, who had stolen her jewelry," Sir Espio said.

"A thief? There was a thief in my castle?"

"Apparently yes, my king. But that's not all I heard."

"Hm?" Sonic looked at his knight waiting for him to continue.

"That thief was your slave. That red and black hedgehog you wanted us to find," Sir Espio said. Sonic's eyes widened.

"WHAT?! Where is he now?!" he shouted out.

"He's in dungeon, my king.. That's what I heard," purple one said. Sonic rushed quickly past the knight and started to run towards the stairs.

"Thank you Sir Espio! I will reward you later!" king Sonic said before he rushed down the stairs. The purple knight only nodded in silence, pulled his visor down and started to walk away. Sonic rushed all the stairs down until he was at the basement. He rushed quickly towards the dungeon. Two guards were guarding the door of the basement but as soon as they saw king Sonic they moved away from the door letting the king in the dungeon. Sonic stepped in the dungeon and the guards closed the door again. He looked around quickly trying to see which one was the cell where Shadow was. Suddenly he heard quiet whimpering. Sonic started to follow the voice and soon it led him at the back of the dungeon. Sonic noticed a small cell at the back. He heard now also quiet crying. King walked at the cell and his eyes widened again and they even got a bit watery as he noticed a familiar hedgehog in the corner of the cell.

"Shadow..."
