Sonadow - King and his slave part 20

"You found him?!" Sonic and Mephiles yelled out at the same time. Sir Espio nodded fast and looked at the kings.

"Yes, we did. It was actually really easy to find him," he said.

"Tell them what you just told us," Knuckles said. Espio nodded again.

"I was in the village with sir Vector and sir Charmy and we noticed that green hedgehog, the slave dealer, mr. Scourge so we decided to follow him secretly because we knew he had some odd businesses going on. He led us straight into duke Eggman's hiding place. We even saw the duke himself too!" Sonic and Mephiles turned to look at each others quickly. They both knew what the other was thinking so there was no disagreeing about the next command.

"Blaze, Knuckles. We're leaving right away. Make sure we have all the knights we need being ready to attack when they get a signal," Mephiles said. Blaze and Knuckles both nodded fast and rushed out of the room with sir Espio behind them. Sonic turned to look at Tails and Silver, both still standing on the doorway.

"Tails, take Silver with you to the library room and do us a fake deed of assignment where I and king Mephiles hand over our kingdoms to duke Eggman. Be quick but meticulous," Sonic said.

"Yes, my king," Tails said with a smile and left the room with the silvery hedgehog walking right behind him.

"So it begins.." Mephiles muttered quietly. Sonic nodded slightly and looked at him.

"Yes.. Let's hope everything goes well.." Sonic said, mostly to himself as attempt to try to calm his nerves. He was feeling really stressed and worried and he had a bad feeling about this all. And that only made him stress and worry even more.

"Let's go get ready, Sonic. I promise that this all will be over soon.." Mephiles said and walked towards the door. Sonic sighed softly and followed the older king, really hoping that would be the case and both Amy and Shadow were alright at the moment..



Everything was black again. But this time Shadow could hear more than just one voice. Those voices were male voices and they were talking to each others. Sometimes Shadow was able to hear his own name being said by someone. Both voices sounded very familiar to him. He opened his eyes tiny bit and started to blink them slowly. Everything was blurry but he could somehow see some figures moving in front of him.

"Hey, he's waking up!"

"Hah, finally.. I can play with my little prince a little now..~"

"Save that to the moment when those kings are here. Try to focus, even for once, Scourge!"

"You're such a partypooper, Eggy.."

"I told you not to call me with that name!"

"Heh heh, calm your eggs, duke."

"Scourge, I'm warning you.."

"Jeez.. Alright. I'm sooooo sorry, my master."

"Hmph, I forgive you, this one time.."

"Thank you, you're sooooooo kind, my master~"

"Now you're just annoying me.."

"Heh..~"

"Hmph, nevermind. Did you do what I asked you to do earlier..?"

"If you mean leading those knights here, then yes, I did it. The kings will be here soon, I promise, duke Eggman."

"Hohoho, excellent. I can finally get my revenge and those kingdoms to myself..~"

"Remember what you promised to me, duke."

"I remember that very well. You will get what you asked for. You have been very loyal to me, mr. Scourge, and you will be awarded in the end."

"Hah, good..~"

"Now, try to wake him up more. He still looks sleepy."

"Heh, I maybe put a bit too many sleeping pills in their food..~"

"I only wanted you to put a few of them in their meal.. Well nevermind, the most important thing is that the queen is now alone and Shadow is here." Shadow blinked his eyes slightly faster now and finally he was able to see more than just blurry figures talking about him. He gasped and his eyes widened when he noticed the green slave dealer and the man wearing red outfit smirking slightly and watching at him.

"Y-you.. It's you..!" Shadow said with shocked look on his face as he mostly looked at duke Eggman. Duke Eggman chuckled and walked closer to Shadow. Shadow tried to move away but that's when he noticed that he was hanging in chains from his hands against the wall and his legs had been bound together from ankles. A wave of panic swept over Shadow and he started to struggle even more, trying to break free but in vain. Eggman chuckled and looked at Shadow's efforts to break free with amused look on his face.

"You're only making yourself tired with all that struggling, Shadow. Just give up and be good boy you used to when you were younger," the man said. Shadow flicked his ears fast and turned to look at Eggman with even more widened eyes.

"How.. Have I been here when I was younger..?" Shadow asked, being very confused and scared still. Eggman nodded.

"Oh yes, you have. Those were nice times.." Eggman said and smirked more. Shadow was puzzled. He didn't remember anything about his early years. He only remembered that Eggman apparently was his main owner who always sold him to other masters but they always returned him to Eggman. He wasn't even sure was that right because he really had difficulties to remember. He remembered Scourge really well. He was the one always punching and kicking, whipping and hurting him even more both mentally and physically. He could still remember, even if he was having those difficulties, how the green hedgehog moved on top of him and.. Shadow shivered and shook his head quickly, trying to get rid of the horrible memory he just couldn't forget.

"W-what do you want from me..?" he asked quietly.

"Ohoho, nothing much. We just needed a lure," Eggman chuckled.

"A l-lure..?" Shadow repeated.

"For some kings..~" Scourge smirked. Shadow gasped and his eyes widened once again. So that's why he was kidnapped too?

"B-but.. W-where's queen Amy?" Shadow asked quickly. Eggman turned to look at Scourge and he nodded to the green hedgehog. Scourge smirked evilly and turned to look at Shadow.

"Oh, queen Amy is dead, slavey," he said. Shadow's whole face turned pale and his eyes became slightly watery really quickly after hearing those words. He couldn't help it but some tears fell down his cheeks as he thought about queen Amy being killed just like that. She didn't deserve to be killed. Shadow closed his eyes tightly, trying not to cry in front of the enemy but the sadness was feeling overwhelming at the moment. Eggman chuckled at Shadow's reaction and turned around. He walked towards a big table and sat on even bigger chair. Scourge stood there, in front of Shadow, watching him suffer for losing his new friend.

"Awww, don't cry, cutie. Besides, isn't it good that she died? Now you can be with your little king..~" Scourge said with a voice filled with contempt and disgust. Shadow opened his eyes quickly and looked at Scourge's icy blue eyes.

"W-what..?" he said while tears still fell down his cheeks. Scourge smirked, leaned closer to him and wiped some tears off from his cheek. Shadow turned his head away, wanting to get far away from Scourge and his disgusting touch.  

"Oh you thought we didn't know about that~?" Scourge chuckled and grabbed Shadow's chin between his fingers and with force he turned Shadow to face him.

"A little birdie told us that you have feelings for that blue king.." Scourge said and squeezed Shadow's face a bit. Shadow let out a small whine as he tried to pull his head further away from Scourge's head. Scourge looked at him angrily now and he lowered his voice as he spoke again, not wanting Eggman to hear everything he was telling to Shadow.

"I don't quite like that you go around and fall in love with some stupid kings, slavey. You should remember that you belong to me.." he said, let go of Shadow's face and turned around and started to walk towards his master. Shadow shivered, both in fear and aversion. He gulped nervously and looked at Scourge.

"I-i.. I don't belong to anyone a-anymore.." he blurted out quietly. Scourge flicked his ears and turned to look at him again, now with burning anger in his eyes.

"What did you say?" he growled. Eggman's attention was now on the two hedgehogs and with great interest he watched them, wanting to know what was this sudden change of the subject. Shadow shivered softly but somehow he managed to build up courage to speak louder.

"I-i don't belong to anyone..! I-i'm not a slave anymore..! I'm a servant now..!" Shadow said. Scourge walked up to him and without any warning he slapped Shadow across the face. The black hedgehog yelped and looked stunned for a few seconds but then he started to feel burning pain on his cheek. He shivered more and some tears of pain fell down his cheeks slightly.

"I-i don't belong to anyone.." he said again. Scourge growled at him and slapped him again, harder this time. Shadow yelped again and whined slightly afterwards but he wasn't going to submit to Scourge anymore.

"I don't b-belong to anyone..! Not you or anyone else..!" he yelled out loudly. Scourge growled furiously.

"You son of..!" he growled and lifted his hand up again. He was just about to slap Shadow again but then he felt how someone grabbed his wrist. Scourge turned to look at Eggman who was holding his wrist tightly.

"Enough, mr. Scourge," he said. Scourge growled and pulled his hand free. He gave Shadow a murderous glare before he walked out of the room, slamming the door behind himself. Eggman rolled his eyes and turned to look at Shadow.

"You really shouldn't have pissed him off like that, Shadow. Now you're really going to suffer.." Eggman said. Shadow lowered his ears and closed his eyes. He turned his head a bit and leaned it against the wall, trying to hide his tears.

"There there, Shadow. This all will be over very soon. If everything goes well," Eggman chuckled. He walked out of the room as well and left Shadow alone. The ebony hedgehog was crying quietly and shivering. He thought about Amy being killed. He thought about Sonic who probably was going to come here soon and get killed also. He thought about Scourge's revenge on him soon. He really shouldn't have said what he said but he needed to get it out and now all this made the ebony hedgehog cry more and fear for his own life too..


If only Shadow knew that Amy being killed was just one of Scourge's many lies Eggman had told him to tell. In fact, the young queen was still in the cell, in the dungeon, sleeping. Or in the matter of fact she was starting to wake up. Amy blinked her eyes slowly and as she lifted her head a little she noticed that she was lying on the cold floor of their cell. He was still looking sleepy as she sat up and started to rub her eyes a bit. She yanwed a little.

"Mmh.. Sorry Shadow, I think I fell asleep again," she said with sleepy voice. She didn't get a reply so she opened her eyes again and looked around. She gasped as she couldn't see the black hedgehog anywhere.  

"Shadow..? Shadow?!" Amy yelled out but of course she couldn't hear or see the ebony one anywhere. Amy got up quickly and rushed towards the locked door of the cell. She looked at the empty hallway as she squeezed bars of the door in her hands and slowly she fell on the floor on her knees.

"Oh no.. This is not good at all.." she talked to herself and looked around quickly. Suddenly something shiny on the ground caught her attension. Amy looked at it more carefully and now she could see that it was a golden, yet old looking, key. If that was the key of this cell Metal Sonic must have dropped it by accident. She didn't need to think twice; Amy moved her hand outside of the cell and tried to reach for the key. She needed to move more closer to the bars if she wanted to get it.

"C'mon.." Amy said in frustration as she had to press her face against the cold bars so she could try to reach her hand towards the key. She could feel it touching the tip of her fingers but she just couldn't reach it.

"C'mon, I need to get out and find him...!" Amy muttered and slightly touched the key with her fingertips, only making it move a bit further away from her hand.

"Darn it..!" the young queen cursed and sighed more. She had a bad feeling that she didn't have much time to find Shadow so she really needed to get out of here fast. It was true there wasn't much time. The kings were already heading towards Eggman's hidingplace.
